The plot: Mack Sennett turns Mabel Normand into a star of his comedies
and they become lovers, although he warns her that he isn’t a romantic guy.
When Mabel tries to convince him she wants to do a serious movie he doesn’t
take her seriously and she leaves him. Things don’t work out the way she planned,
and when Mack asks her to come back she’s already a drug addict and is involved
in the murder of William Desmond Taylor.
